Self-Contained and Split Wine Cellar Cooling Systems – What are the Differences?
.

Hello.  My name is Dan Philips, owner and technical adviser for US Cellar Systems.  Today we are going to be covering the differences between a self-contained cooling system and a split wine cellar cooling system.

All wine cellar cooling systems Dallas Texas contain the same basic components.  You have the compressor, the condenser, the metering device, and the evaporator coil.

In a self-contained wine cellar cooling system, all of these components will be housed in a single cabinet, which needs to be placed through the wall, like you would install a window air conditioner into a home.

In a split wine cellar cooling system, they will divide these into two major components. You will have the compressor and the condenser together in the part which is generally termed as the condensing unit, which can be placed outside some place where the noise and heat coming off of it is no problem.
